In the Department of Paranormal Research, principial Josh, the human HR Assistant, navigates the challenges of supernatural employee relations to become a respected staff member and get his dream girl. However, his desire to match his colleagues makes him step too close to dark magic, leading to a cross-multi-verse union strike.

TV pilot: As he starts his new job, Josh is told he needs to pass his two-week probation. Easy, right? Yet Josh falls in love with sukkub Sorei, which complicates everything. Her jealous partner, Marshall, is literally hell-bent on getting Josh fired. Coming under the influence of a truth-telling spell (and they say that what happens during mediation stays at mediation), Josh spurts out what he thinks, horrifying witch Annika, the HR Manager, and Onlika, the basilisk Receptionist. With the help of Dr Valchi, vampire and a renowned haematologist, Josh covers up Annika’s slip, proving his devotion to the job and passing his probation.

In the following six episodes, Josh faces new issues, such as training staff to use video calls with multi-verse Universities, recruiting a demon for a Research Assistant position, issues of confidentiality and remote working, applying for a working visa (Hercules had it easy!), and appraisals.
